SEPTEMBER 27, 2014

I've been living life the French way for a month now. I never really understood how exchange students say that months go by so fast, but now I think I do. I would be lying if I'll say that it wasn't tough for the first few weeks or that the language barrier doesn't bother me at all, but it has been a very wonderful 30 days.

Aside from celebrating my 1st month in this beautiful country, today, I attended a camp of the Scouts et Guides de France. It was nice to see their own way of camping. It was a gathering of scouts from 7 years old to the senior ones and their parents were also invited to stay until after dinner.

Before the camp started, there was a little boy who was crying. He was carrying his huge camping bag and he wants to see his mom. I knew exactly what he felt to I can't help but tear up, too. I couldn't translate my comforting words in french and I felt really bad. Anyway, I was so happy that his mom was there later that day.

It was a wonderful experience, and It's nice to meet new people who share the same passion of helping and making this world a better place.

My passion did not fail to hunt me in France.

If there is one thing in my life that I am really proud of, that's being a girl scout. It helped me become who I am today and I will share all my experiences with so much pride. Through the GSP, I was able to touch lives and give hope to others, which, I believe, is such a fulfilling achievement. I am so blessed to be part of this amazing scouting community! La vie est belle! :)
