I arrived here last Wednesday after 3 delayed flights and 24 hours in Hong Kong. Marianne, Blandine and Herve fetched me at the airport of Clermont Ferrand, Auvergne. We went straight to Centre Jaude to have my pictures taken and to get a sim card for my phone too.
After, we went to Vichy to watch a concert of Marielle Normann and Nemanja Radulovic. IT WAS BREATHTAKING. They were so far the best musicians I have met. I spent two nights with Martine and Florentine (My second host family) They were really nice and welcoming and their house is like in the movies, It was very pleasant and beautiful! I met Elodie (Florentine's friend) also :)
Friday came, and it was time to say goodbye to Florentine (because she's going to a business school in Toulouse, France) and it was also time for our first gathering of both inbounds and rebou
nds of District 1740. At first, it was difficult, but thank God for French and English, we can understand each other!
I met A LOT of people with different stories and cultures to share. I can go country hopping just by talking to them and sharing a couple of questions. C'est tres cool! It was a very fun weekend. We almost did not get sleep. On our first night, we stayed outside, played games, and shared stories, not knowing everyone's name, but making an effort to remember them and have a good time.
On our second day, we had a few meetings about the rules, etc. and we had a party that night! I never thought I can dance for so long without stopping to songs in different languages! These people are the best, indeed! Our differences made us so bonded. We were all in a big circle after the party until it got too cold that we cannot feel our toes (Me and Agos especially haha).
On our last day, we visited a castle nearby with a very interesting history. Everyone had a great time, I guess, well, until it was time to say goodbye. Good times can't just end like that :'( Chiau and her host mom took me home after the Rotex Weekend :)
